A Workplace Approval is a formal process conducted by a relevant Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) to assess and accredit an employer’s premises as a suitable environment for hosting workplace-based learning programmes, such as learnerships, apprenticeships, and internships.
What is the purpose of a Workplace Approval?
This approval verifies that the workplace provides the necessary infrastructure, tools, supervision, and safety standards to support structured learning aligned with registered qualifications on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). It also ensures that learners will receive meaningful, practical experience relevant to their field of study.

Mentor approval is the first step, whereas getting a site visit will be the next step. After the site visit, a workplace approval will be sent.
Where do we get it
You get your workplace approval from the relevant SETA. iComply SA will update you from the registration to the approved process and send you the Workplace Approval certificate to acquire the desired apprentices.
How do we get it
iComply SA will be the liaison with the client and the SETA. A workplace approval is obtained through the relevant SETA. The SETA is responsible to issue the workplace approval certificate for the entity.
